The modern, well-appointed rooms are medium in size with twin queen size beds or King size bed and are in a good condition. Bathrooms are a reasonable size and are in good condition. There are two restaurants, the Caravel for a la carte dining and buffet and inside/outside dining is a feature of the Conservatory-style Pavilion restaurant. The hotel is modern but architecturally built in a classical chateau style. The lobby is medium in size with some seating. The Distinction hotel (previously the Grand Tiara) is a good superior quality hotel with plenty of dining options and leisure facilities including an outdoor pool and a smaller children's pool as we all three private spa pools. It also offers a nightly, traditional 'Hangi' feast and Maori cultural performance including the famous 'Haka' War dance. SE1008
